This guy is even better than Justin at saying one thing to only one part of the country, then usually says the opposite to another part. Just lip service to get his turn at the trough, ask him what his stand of Qc is? This guy is a wing nut.

The dumb part is that he's doing it to boost TO's Olympic bid, which is fucking idiotic because the Olympics are about the most colossal waste of taxpayer money that a city or country can engage it. Mulcair's the first to bitch about any subsidy to the oil industry, even if those subsidies help to create real permanent jobs, but he's first up for an Olympic bid that's more wasteful than just taking cash and setting it on fire. Gee, and here I thought the Dippers were the crusaders to keep the governments from spending money on anything stupid.

I hope that this statement was tongue-in-cheek. I'd hate to think you were truly that stupid!

Sarcasm is the only way I can approach anything from the federal Dippers. They are literally just so awful in my view that I have to do this as a defense mechanism against the possibility of them gaining control. Tommy Douglas' creation is living proof that anything thought up by left-wing evangelicals is as horrid as anything thought up by the right-wing ones. :|

Toronto is the most important city any way you slice it. It generates the most revenue, provides the most jobs and contains the most voters. This hyper-sensitivity to everything the left said is just thinnly veiled sour grapes because the right has no real Ammo, and how could they ? The Conservatives have been in complete control the last 9 years.

    Sorry guys, party's over.

And that alone is sufficient for you in TO to dictate terms to everyone else in the country.

The right has no ammo? This I would prefer over the damp squibs the left keep bringing out.

it doesn't 'provide' the most jobs, and if it does generate the most revenue then why is Ontario the largest sub nation indebted entity in the world? but yes it does have lots of voters....who really wants a balanced budget anyway? The No Down Payment party will ensure we are fine, but YOUR kids will be FCKED!

Absolutely not, every city is important, evey town is important, but taking offence to someone calling the largest city in a country its most important is a whole lot of phoney indignation.

I didn't take offense to what Mulcair said because I truly do not care what he thinks about Toronto or what Toronto thinks about itself. Spend yourselves silly on the Olympics if that's what you want to do. What I care about is the perpetual Toronto/Central Canada attitude that amounts to an entitlement where because you have the numbers you get to push the rest of us around any time you feel like it. Like what Mulcair's got planned with shutting down the Alberta oil economy altogether if he gets the magic number of MP's, most of whom will be from Central Canada and not the West or East regions. You people want to know where all that angry Western separation nonsense came from over the last thirty years? Then look no farther than the MP's and PM's you vote for who think there's no more to Canada than the Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal Corridor Uber Alles. Stephen Harper has literally been the only prime minister in Canadian history who looked at the West as actually being a real part of Canada instead of something to be booted around by the federal government if doing so made good politics in Canada's so-called heartland.

He's not trying to boost any big because there is no big, everyone knew that yesterday and it was made official today.

    He's just telling the truth.

I know, I know....the West will have the inevitable "Toronto penis envy" but let's get over it already.

Believe me you can keep all of what makes Toronto "special". From your crackhead politicians to your apartment blocks that resemble the ghettoes on the outskirts of Paris to your yuppified lakeshore that blocked the view of the water to anyone who isn't rich to your new obsession with the Olympics, you can have and keep it all to yourselves.

    I don't live in Toronto.

In case you misread my post, there is no Olympic bid....and rightfully so.
