Australia's beleaguered prime minister has been ousted from his position by an internal government challenge and the party's former leader has been elected to replace him.

    They're a wild bunch in Oz. First Labor, now the Liberals.

    The Liberal Party in Australia is, despite its name, the equivalent of Britain's Tories.

    Abbott seemed like a good right-wing PM to me. It's a shame to see him go. Australia's new PM will be its fourth since 2013. Britain has had four since 1990.

    The party likes the conservative stuff but apparently they were getting tired with the holy-roller routine Abbott was doing.
