Ron MacLean, who has appeared as an NHL playoff host for close to three decades, is not scheduled to be in a host's chair when the post-season rolls around next week, according to a Globe report.

    If they wanted to get rid of Ron, Cassie Campbell would have been a better choice, at least she knows hockey.

    I have never liked George Str-alphabet soup... when Cherry and MacLean are no longer hosting, I'm flipping to other channels on period breaks and leaving the post-game entirely. :rock:

    I always assume when old Strombo isn't on camera, he's in the shitter getting the shorts out of his ass from the wedgie he got from the hockey guys he works with. He just doesn't fit into sports.

    He hasn't been the host all season, not sure why it would be any different for the playoffs.

    Playoffs is a whole new season. Rogers needs to sit up and notice what people are saying.

    First year out, I guess they're feeling their way around. I was never a big fan of seeing MacLean all the time except on Coach's Corner, but he does a better job and fits in better than Strombo.

    I watch HNIC for the hockey and could care less about the talking heads.

    I don't think viewers are going to tune out from the hockey because of who they have hosting the little bits before, during and after.

    True especially with PVR and the "pause" button. Hit pause and got to the bathroom.........then hit the "live" button. :lol:

    Frankly, Don Cherry is a little stale. I like Don, but the rants are getting a little old and predictable.

    Good riddance to Ron McLean, the weasel. And yeah, they should get rid of Don Cherry too. The only guy I ever liked was Fathead Mackenzie on TSN for some reason.

    His qualifications for the job are outstanding though. He's a self professed hockey fan. :roll:
