An Edmonton emergency veterinarian said a four-year-old pit bull is recovering well after being slashed with a machete while protecting her owner on Tuesday evening. �She�s a great dog, just a very gentle dog,� said Brent Jackson, at the Edmonton Veterin

    With all the negative press the police tend to get, I just wanted to point out this story. The dog suffered very deep cuts with a machete - some right to the bone. The owner couldn't afford emergency surgery to save the dog, so Police officers passed the hat around the detachment and raised the money themselves.
