Break out the hand-held fans and locate those sun visors. Most of Canada is poised for sweltering, hotter-than-usual weather this summer, a long-term forecast predicts.

And weren't they predicting a cold snowy winter last year?

Or not. Toss the darts at the board again, boys, and lets see what we can come up with this time.

My birch trees were loaded with seed pods a week ago, I'm not sure if I've ever seen them like that in 20 years or so. Blackfoot Warrior Longtrout told me this was a sign that the coming summer would be hot and dry.

I keep telling them, if they want to get it , they have to use entrails and not cheap out with those inefficient chicken guts.

They should use the innards of erroneous weathermen and climatology professors instead. It appeases the sorts of gods that dislike hypocrisy and fearmongering.

Fortunately.... :? ....did I type fortunately? I always know summer here is going to be stinking hot. How wet it is going to be, is the only thing uncertain. it's either holy shit it's wet or ...oh my god, why is that old fart building a boat outside of the zoo?

(Un)fortunately the new generation of weathermen use computer models, which are often wrong.

Today my local weatherman said two computer models contradicted each other.

Seems like the old skills have been superseded by notoriously stupid computer software.
    GIGO reigns.

I hope this one is completely off, I have to spend the summer on the side of a road with coveralls that trap heat and do not breathe at all, it is hot enough already.

There's always a refreshing breeze blowing off the lake at my cottage. None o' you fuckers are invited. 8)

But come night you hate that breeze as it makes you freeze, ours is hidden behind a nice number of trees so you get a light breeze but never the freezing one that comes over open water.

And he`s probably just as accurate in predicting the weatherr as those supposed experts with their computer models and high priced educations.

Now with that being said I wonder where our spring went. We had a wetter and warmer winter than the experts said and we`re still somewhere between 6 to 10 degrees fareheit below our average yet again this year.

For a hoot I did a 10 year study of temperatures for May 01 starting in 02 and going to 2012 and you can see a definate cooling trend. I`ll do it for July 01 and see what I can come up with but my guess is that we`ll be cooler now than we were 10 years ago on that date, just like May 01.

Since we can actually verify by records that our temperatures are cooling for specific dates during the past 10 years where is all this global warming that they keep talking about occuring?

Maybe it's a good thing I got a desk job this summer. Maybe, it's going to be an extremely boring summer....

Okay, you're invited to my cottage, coaster. You're in Milwaukee, right? How much beer do you figure you can smuggle up to the cottage? You got a big car?
