Don Cherry's not going anywhere, at least not for another season of Hockey Night in Canada. The outspoken commentator renewed his contract with HNIC through the 2011-2012 season, CBC announced on Saturday.

Yup. Agree or disagree with him, Cherry does what a tv personality is supposed to do. Makes ya talk about what he said.

It will be a sad day when Grapes isn't on HNIC any more. I hope he continues on for a good many more years.......

Not a massive fan of Grapes, but hey, as long as it's not the concussed goof, Kypreos, i'll take him.

I don't enjoy Grapes as much as I once did. He's pretty much a one-trick pony and his pony show has become pretty old. You can't fault his patriotism, his support of our men and women in the service or his love for the game. I just get the sense that he's lost a lot between the ears and I'd rather see him pack it in before he really becomes an embarassment to himself. It'd be a shame if he tarnished his own career by hanging on too long, like Harey Carey or Howie Meeker did.
