Winnipeg's Standard Aero is teaming up with GE Canada to build a multi-million dollar aircraft engine research and technology development centre near the airport, creating dozens of jobs.

    Damned shame it won't be used - everyone knows aerospace contracts go to firms in Quebec not Winnipeg...

    I figure this place will be used more for private sector work rather than gov't contracts (which in the past have gone to Quebec even when it didn't make sense to do so).

    And why would you like it to go to Quebec? To take more of the west's money? Get bent. The west needs to start building these kind of tirciary buisnesses. We won't get the grants but shit we only produce 1.5 times the GNP that the East does and with half the population.

    I say good on the peg. Lets start investing in the area's that we live in.
