    Sure it did.

Did they balance the books on that one like they did the Fast Ferries?

Anyone surprised that I am a little tiny bit skeptic about this... "result"? :P

Not I. Hell, I don't think there was an Olympics that ever broke even or made a profit. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The VANOC budget did not include the cost of building the venues and other projects, which were paid for by the provincial and federal governments.

I see that as a major omission.

You can close every book to your own advantage, with a little creativity...

The 1984 Olympics in LA and 1988 Games Seoul were profitable. After the debacle that was Montreal, being profitable (or close to it) was a big consideration in awarding the games.

If you did your household finances like Furlong and the boys did for the Olympics, we'd all be living on easy street, with someone else picking up the tab for all of our extravagant major purchases.

This Olympics didn't break even, the operating costs may have broke even, but I'm even doubtful of that given the climate of secrecy that surrounded what they considered Olympic related costs.

So if they factored in what the Province and Federal Taxpayers kicked in, that he conviently doesn't count as a cost, Furlong and his Olympics would be so far in the hole that we'd have to pump him sunlight.
