    B.C. politician admits drunk driving
    By THE CANADIAN PRESS

A B.C. Liberal MLA says shes facing drunk driving charges.

Jane Thornthwaite says she was caught in an RCMP road check in North Vancouver on Monday night.

She says drinking and driving is dangerous and completely unacceptable and her actions are inexcusable.

Thornthwaite says she accepts full responsibility for what she did and will co-operate fully with Crown counsel through her lawyer.

Shes also offering apologies to her family, friends, colleagues and her constituents, saying she failed to meet the standards she set for herself as a mother and a public official.

Thornthwaites boss, Premier Gordon Campbell, was convicted of drunk driving in Hawaii in 2003.
