Suzanne Pleshette, the husky-voiced film and theatre star best known for her role as Bob Newhart's sardonic wife on television's long-running The Bob Newhart Show, has died. She was 70.

That's very sad. She was a great actress.

I've never seen that. Looked on youtube for it but no luck.

    Very appealing voice, too.

The last scene - it's dark, Bob wakes up and starts talking about this weird dream he had.... and a distinct gravelly voice picks up the one detail that matters...

"You were married to a blonde?"

The whole series was a dream. :D

I've heard about that - a classic finale for a series.

Guess I'll have to find the DVD.

Nope. Can't find the Newhart finale anywhere.... :(

I've never seen much of her work, but as a big fan of those old Hitchcock movies I remember her from "The Birds" (she's way more appealing than Tippi Hedren, IMO) and this other flick I saw once on TV late at night called "If This Is Tuesday It Must Be Belgium", which I'm sure I only watched because of her.

Newhart - a tv show from the eighties starring Bob Newhart. He has a real deadpan sense of humour.

To put the previous posts into context, it was his second series. The first one, ' The Bob Newhart Show' had Suzanne Pleshette in it.
