The tests in New Mexico were to originally be on humans as well, but the lawyers wouldn't sign off on human testing. Instead they subjected animals to 4 hours breathing the exhaust from a 20 year old Ford F-250 diesel.

Does the sign over the entrance say "Arbeit macht frei"? Given who started the company, did they not see the optics of these tests?

I really thought I would find out it was something that happened a long time ago. 2014 WTF I know common sense is dead and I read IQ points are dropping but really not this fast. The fact that the lawyers would not sign off on it should have been there first clue not to do it.

Apparently they weren't worried about optics Dr. cause no one was ever supposed to know.

Netflix has a series "Dirty Money". The first episode is about VW, and it's shenanigans.

My wife has an arch-liberal friend who bragged about having an environmentally sensitive 'clean diesel' VW.

    She doesn't brag anymore.

The Mrs. should ask them how to fit 100 people in a VW.

2 in the front, 2 in the back, 96 cremated in the ashtrays.

Volkswagen is quickly becoming the IG Farben of the automotive world and should be taken to task for their cavalier attitudes towards the safety and health of their clients and test subjects.

This is what should be happening to "all" current VW executives for both these tests and their habitual lying about their product.

Last month former VW executive Oliver Schmidt was sentenced to seven years in prison in the US and a $400,000 (293,000) fine after admitting he helped the firm evade clean-air laws.

This car has every electronic device known to man.

So, first thing is to learn how to turn at least of all that shit off. :)

Second, gonna get me some chip tuning.

Emissions tests are the problem. Nobody needs admissions tests.

Volkswagen 'hid results of exhaust tests carried out on monkeys because they showed fumes are MORE damaging than expected'

The tests on monkeys were never intended to come to light, Bild Daily reported
The emission tests took place in the U.S. in 2014 by a VW-funded organisation
The VW chief executive has said the tests were wrong and unethical
Daimler and BMW are also linked to the scandal which Daimler has condemned

    That's not true.

The group that was hired by the Automotive companies to perform these tests would not sign off and release the results because they believed the test was unfair and that VW was using a 'defeat device' to game the test.

Watch the above documentary, and you can hear it from the company head, in his own words.
