EyeBrock EyeBrock: Really, if you don't like or wish to conform to US laws, don't go there. Not being funny here... but every nation is entitled to enforce rules of entry to it's own borders. A bit like the Chinese stopping reporters et al from looking at the BBC website (nasty limey subversives) during, pre and post the Olympics. Oh have they have progressed. True. However there is no deficit of people attacking China for its rules and regulations is there? Seems to me that the people supporting the US regs should support wholeheartedly whatever china decides is best for them under the same principle.

It's not just tourists though. This applies to US citizens as well. Someone already pointed out that the same folk that scream about the right to bear arms think nothing of handing over their laptop because they think they have nothing to hide. Lily, on this we are on the same page, and I am right-wingerly amused about the NRA types handing over lap-tops, very different!

Roger that. Heads up old chap. You are not advancing the reputation of the CF too well with your posts. But hey....this is a democracy and we do have free speech......pray, do carry on Mr Fish-head.

DerbyX DerbyX: Yes people like Streaker would be the first to respond I figure against the Princess Pats and the Regina Rifles the US Army would lose probably two or three soldiers for every Canadian and it would probably be about 1.5 US Marines for every Canadian. I say that crediting these units with excellent unit cohesion, extreme familiarity with their kits (since they haven't really had any new stuff since 1943 or so) and for home field advantage (they know where all the good Timmie's are). Against the Streakers and Mr. Canada's of Canada we'd lose probably one American for every thousand or so of these types. And that one would die of one of the following: * Laughter. * Exhaustion from pulling the trigger all day. * Did I mention laughter? Seriously, how can you even propose that someone who openly derides the military and the necessary set of values that forms a military would suddenly be disciplined enough to be able to unquestioningly accept orders, field strip and clean a select fire rifle, know how to take care of his feet properly, and not be smoking pot or flaking off while on guard duty? Frankly, the CF could be down to 40 guys surrounded by one million Americans and I'd still bet they'd tell Streaker and etc. to bugger off and that, " We're not so bad off that we need you!" I respect the CF too much to think they'd ever be desperate enough to need Streaker, romanP/IceOwl, or etc. Derby, you might have enough in you to make a passable soldier, I'll give you credit for that. But some of these other folks just aren't going to have what it takes because they just don't evidence any of it on these forums. If you can't say "I'm willing to die and kill for my country and during a time of war I'm willing to follow my orders no matter how much I may disagree with them" then you just cannot be a good soldier. Streaker, being who he is, would be a pain in the ass and grief his CO every chance he got. Personally, I like him for this quality. But as a soldier in a crisis his CO would shoot him and write a report about how he died so nobly in battle. Because that's how it works.

I await the responses to this with glee! Oh you don't think there is a difference? It’s huge, somebody looking for a job with the military as to somebody that knew damn well he'd be going to war no questions asked and signed up anyway. That’s about as black and white as you could make it.

Well, I can see hwackers point but, as somebody who came from the equivalent of a ‘project’ in the UK, (and got out by joining the military), hwackers view of the Force’s being made up of the ‘under-achievers’ of society is a bit harsh. My family is very working class, but we have always had a military vein.....does that make us white trash? We maybe not quite as sophisticated as you, hwacker... Still, I don’t think you should discount us types who joined at 16 years old, got a degree and who do okay in the world right now. Come on…mellow out buddy! We are not all cabbages.

Do you consider invading a trusted ally and trigger exhaustion from killing unarmed opponents honourable marine activities? Streaker doesn't openly deride the military just the current use of it invading innocent foreign countries on the pretense of helping them. You talk about the invasion of Canada as a cakewalk but you invaded iraq in a few weeks and lost more soldiers after peace was declared. Canada will be backed by NATO, specifically the UK, France, and every country in the world actually (accept AUS). It won't ever happen but I trust Streaker far more the fuckwits like hwanker or RR, or aging who are all defacto Americans in waiting.

Nice to really know what you think of the career members in the CF. Hide behind what your relatives did if it makes you feel big. Ultimately it's not their fault you can't hack the hard stuff, princess.

Forum arguments with prats can do that. I'll try to do better next time, thanks.
