Brenda Brenda:
Of all my international flights to Canada, AC was THE worst.

Like I said, I must be one of the lucky few - I've flown to/from Europe, to/from Asia and across Noth America with Air Canada over the past two decades and the biggest complaint I've ever had was the headset jack didn't work - so one of the staff moved me to another seat (which was fine because I was flying alone).

bootlegga bootlegga:
I understand the hatred/disgust many people seem to have for Air Canada, but as a passenger of AC many, many times in the past two decades, I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I guess I'm just one of the lucky few...

My experience with AC is similar to yours the last few times I flew with them. Prior to 10 years ago it was a much different story. 8O

I find with sites like expedia etc that I have often found cheaper flights booking direct with AC. I also have the option of selecting departure times, seats and any upgrades.

One thing that really bothered me was that we were supposed to fly with an almost empty plane from Amsterdam to Toronto to Vancouver.
A Martin Air flight to Miami had engine trouble, so they stuffed the MartinAir people in with us, and it was overly crowded with only annoyed people. We were (the AC travelers) because it caused us to have a 3.5 hour delay, which made us miss our connecting flight, and they were all mad because now they had a layover in Toronto, some for a day. The cabin crew was grouchy as hell too, because they had expected an easy flight too, and now they had to work.
But what really bothered me on that flight, was that we, as AC customers, got a nice treatment (if you can call grouchy cabin crew nice) but the MartinAir people were done plain rude to. It pissed me off SO bad.

Air Transat, which is Canadian too, was fabulous.

Keep your assumptions to yourself, will you?

Air Transit is junk, running junk aircraft. But I'm glad you liked it.

Compared to the AC I flew with a few times, and the service they gave, AT was fabulous.

One of the AC planes was duct taped together, so seriously...
