In this thread there was a pic of a frame from a 60 minutes episode. Why post the pic, you mean? That's also easy. Go back to the previous page and check it out.

Apparently there is a video somewhere of Omar assembling bombs for Al Qaida though. It is what it is.

Don't get why it's so hard for you people to understand that no one objects to the stuff out of warm feelings for Khadr. There's some very important principals at stake here. I think the ruling came about because it's been pretty much predetermined up here in Canada that he's going to walk out of this with millions. I seriously doubt he'll get anywhere near $134 million but the US ruling does kind'a pre-empt any cash award he'll get here.

I would be completely fine with charging him with treason. In fact I'm kind of pissed that they didn't extradite him immediately after he was captured and do just that.

Leaving a Canadian citizen in a prison of dubious legal standing where he was tortured and denied basic rights was just stupid. That's what has caused all the problems.

As I and many others have said, none of our objections to what's happened with Omar cones from sympathy or affection for him. It's all about wanting or government to treat all citizens equally because as soon as they can change the rules for one group they can change the rules for any other group they don't like.

I don't know about you, but I don't think it's a good idea to trust the government with that kind of power.

Why the hell would Canada give him a nickel? Canada is just an innocent bystander in all of this.... except for providing shelter to the horrid Khadrs in the first place. Omnar owes US millions for getting him out of the goulag in Guantanamo Bay!

Wanna take a trivia break? It's kind of a fascinating story. Ever heard of "the Kamploops Kid?"

His name was Kanao Inouye, and he was hung for treason in 1947.
