Well main stream rock is dead or at the very least taking an extended break for a while. Its all electronic dance music now. North American resisted the wave for quite a bit while it took over Europe and many other places but its seems its landed now.
True, mainstream rock is effectively dead. But I'd say it's been rap/hip-hop that killed rock.
