Brenda Brenda: I have been wondering WHY those generators were not ON THE ROOF??? They just thought that everything will be ok. Bu it isn't. Nature is giving the real test, computers can't do it.

Gunnair Gunnair: An aircraft carrier does not need to close within 50 nm to perform a rescue That's true. But you can go back and read the stories on this particular situation and the fact remains that the two ships closed to 50nm in seven hours. Wiki says the Dawn can make 21 knots. Going with that you're still looking at the Reagan making 50 knots. There's just no other way to work that out.

Nature is giving the real test, computers can't do it. Isn't it just common sense tho? You need to have your back-up backed up, and backed up again... A Tsunami is a damned Japanese name, it's not like they have never seen one before.

But 3 years ago we had one that we weren't ready.

Design the damned roof to hold them... They have Tsunamis, hurricanes, tornado's and what ever else that they should design for. I'm sorry, but this is just stupid. When an earthquake hits, you never know where it hits, so ANYTHING on the ground can just break down. They are close to the sea, so a water disaster is ALWAYS a possibility. They weren't stupid 40 years ago. A country like Japan, technology is born there, but they cannot figure out that you really need your back up backed up somewhere safe??

We are not talking about a power outage that is only annoying and defrosts your freezer. We are talking about a nuclear facility that fucked up.

They weren't stupid 40 years ago. A country like Japan, technology is born there, but they cannot figure out that you really need your back up backed up somewhere safe?? Money ( more than a lot of), time, conditions. That's not easy, in US they are going to buil a wall between New-York and ocean. A very huge project. If to protect from everything that is possible, we may sit at home in the glass ball with pillows.

You need only conditions for that. And in one day - boom)) It's fucked up.

Judging from the video I edited in, its the roof, doesnt look much more than corrugated steel. Or, better to say it didn't look. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/iwj7
