21-4 on quiz one, 23-2 on quiz two, and 21-4 on quiz three. These are supposed to be hard?

Eh.

This topic makes me very happy. Now if we just had one that was "record reduction in number of immigrants to Canada," I'd be ecstatic.

18 out of 25 on the third. I never had any Canadian history taught to me in school, and haven't read up on this other than on here.

I did a paper on citizenship requirements and the changes to the citizenship test not less then a year ago. I will try to dig up my sources. As well as everyone here is doing on the test, if I recall correctly, you only needed a 70%, and the booklet they give the participants is as long as the test itself and is a basic rundown of the answers in statement form. The old test was a joke, and this new test is a basic statement of fact.

A failure should send at the minimum one of two messages; 1. The participant did not take the time to even glance at the material, preying on the weak and/or apathetic immigration system. 2. They fail to meet the basic language requirements for citizenship and should be enrolled in classes.

kenmore kenmore:
I took a sample test and aced it, but the sentence structure was appalling.
I offered an new question regarding recognizing our flag. But thought I should use a pictorial.

The guide is no different.

Seriously, what do we ask of immigrants again? Speaking this language??
$1:
How many territories Canada have?

$1:
When federal elections must be held?

$1:
What is the political candidate.

Yeah...are we sure these questions are legit? I've got to admit that it's rather hypocritical to ask for fluency while your mangling the English language .

I got 18 out of 25 on 'part 1' :D and I live in the US and am not trying to pass the citizenship test but I wanted to see how hard it is. I don't think it's very hard but I only did the first one.

http://www.apnatoronto.com/canadian-citizenship-quiz.html

I got 19 out of 25 right, and I haven't lived a day in the North American Continent, know much about Canadian history or its laws or trying pass the test.

And people are failing this ! :?

Whats the pass mark BTW ?

P.S : I think a better test for citizenship would be the IELTS test, with minimum scoring of 6 in all bands if not 7. Currently that is not mandatory for immigration or citizenship

Just for giggles I took one of the other tests aswell.

Test 6 or 7 or something, 20 out of 25 90%. I think Canada needs to send me a Passport now !

I can forward my mailing address if that helps, or the crown is more than welcome to send me a paid ticket so I can pick it up myself in Canada

But even if you don't get good results you can make up or in other categories.

What I'm saying replacing an IELTS with minimum requirements is a much better test for citizenship than the current one. FFS I think I passed with good results. 20 out of 25 and I don't know shyte about Canada.

If your in Canada for atleast four years and cannot pass an IELTS ......!!!

Again going back to the Oz vs Canada debate. A good score in the IELTS is a must for Ozzie immigration, and if your spouse/partner does not pass it. You have to pay a very hefty fee, more like a heavy fine really.

So all Oz skilled migrants landing in Oz already speak, hear and write good English. I think it is a must in these countries. I never had any problems getting along with Canadians, Americans, Australians, Brits etc etc because of my language skills. While I see many here struggle to do bussiness or make friendships with them because of the Language barrier.

Just my two cents.
