This really just exemplifies what's wrong with Palin. Instead of, like most of us, having a laugh at a mistake like this, she doubles down and compares herself to Shakespeare.

It's the sheer inability to admit to any kind of mistake of any kind and the hubris to compare herself to Shakespeare when she is notorious for constantly butchering the english language.

Obama has a reputation as a highly educated man so his gaffes are explained away as tiredness. Sarah Palin is Dan Quayle's illegitimate trailer park daughter. You can thank Tina Fey for that. Once people get it in their head that the person is an idiot, no amount of scrubbing or polish will erase that tarnish.

Look at Sylvester Stallone. He's STILL trying to augment his diction at every turn, but people still think he's a mush-mouthed moron.

I just don't get all the animus and hatred being aimed at this woman. I can only think that without Bush and Rove to hate anymore some of you people need to focus your innate viciousness at someone and Palin is a convenient target.

She is stupid, yet she acts like she has a brain. True a lot of politicians are like this, but I get help but think of her foreign policy experience "I can see Russian from my house".

Whether you like her or not, to be fair it was actually Tina Fey who said " I can see Russia from my house", not Palin.

Which, unless I missed something in geography class, is pretty much a true statment unlike Tina Fey's SNL anecdote.

With all that being said, fractured Dan Quayle english aside, I can't see her ever becomming anything more than a scary footnote in history.

I honestly think she's going to run. She has most of the infrastructure in place for a primary run.

She has a media arm: FOX News
She has money from speaking fees and residuals from her books.
She has the cable news media (and not just FOX) hanging off of her every tweet.
And according to polls she's the most visible candidate to registered Republicans.

I can't see her not running. But, IF she doesn't I can see her becoming the kingmaker.

The older generation of ‘leaders’ think that if they promote females, brown people etc, it makes them seem responsive to the needs of a diverse society.

The problem is , they will promote ANYBODY for merely having a vagina or having a different skin shade/colour than the perceived white mainstream of power.

There are plenty of competent women and non-white guys who work with me, but they are not willing to sell their souls for advancement they haven’t yet earned. Unlike the Palin’s, Guergis’s and Jaffers of the world.
