There are other pain medications out there that work just as well. But people are afraid on stepping on peoples toes with their we "can't tell people what they can or can't do" mentality. I mean when a judge says that Ottawa controlling an illigal substance is unconstituional that is just getting out of control. IMO thats just suicidal liberalism at work again.

You also siad "People desperately want it" but that begs the question of why? Is it because they just enjoy its affects and found a convenient reason to get some? Like I said before,the bigger issue IMO is that 50 grams to be completely excessive and goes beyond a pain management program. These people have a different problem at this point then whatever illness that they are apparently suffering from.

Don't you think the medical community knows this? Pain alleviation is just one of the uses.

What makes you think the govt has the right to stop people from using MJ? Would you support them outlawing alcohol too considering the death and destruction it causes? How about gambling? Smoking? fatty foods?

I think people need to do a little more research before condemning the practice.

All medication has side effects, addiction possibilities, and complications such as drug interactions with any other life saving drug they may be taking.

I think the government SHOULD be allowed to control the supply of medicinal marijuana because, unlike smoking, gambling and fatty foods, it is illegal. They need to ensure that this legitamized mariuana market doesnt end up in the hands of the general population. And when these recipients complain about the quality of the weed supplied by the government, they sound more like potheads i know who smoke it recreationally than someone who is trying to alleviate pain. Further reinforced by the ridiculous amounts that they consume each day.

The public doesn't need medicinal MJ. So far what I've read about its quality is much lower then any respectable BC bud or Ontario grow-op.

If you really want to get down to brass tacts then yes, quality is a factor. Why smoke 2 or 3 joints to get the needed level of THC when 1 will do?

Pot is not aspirin. There are drugs like Viagra and Celebrex that are also recreational in nature as well that have far more deadly side effects. Let's not forget Prozac the zombie drug, by means of comparison mj is downright safe. Sometime, if you have a herbal alternative it better for you because the drug industry options are overpowered and too toxic for what you are looking for.

When a judge says the act of controlling an illegal substance that is not harmful, and is beneficial to many people, is actually illegal in itself, that is the justice doing its job.

There are other ways of consuming weed. It can baked into cookies and brownies, melted into butter (potcorn!), and even vapourised. If you must inhale, vapourising is the best way to go, as it doesn't give you all of the ash and tar that smoking does, just pure THC vapour.
