Okay one thing I am noticing here is those that are upset about the gas rate hikes are mum about the Gov. giving money to multi million dollar corporations to go green.

The money collected from the carbon tax pays for the green subsidies.

Rob from the poor to give to the filthy rich. Got it. Sounds like a perfectly normal idea to me....

I've probably hit the cancel button 10x as much as I hit submit when I've typed out a post.

It doesn’t rob from the poor or give to the filthy rich. The rich use more carbon than everyone else and the rest of us get more in tax rebates than we pay at the pump.

And Loblaws isn’t exactly known as a rogue corporation or scofflaw, or even a particularly ruthless corporation.

Their parent company is the country’s largest employer. The bread price fixing scheme which also involved Walmart Canada Corp., Sobeys Inc., Metro Inc. and Giant Tiger Stores Ltd. - basically all of Canadas major grocers - is really their only major blemish (Loblaws parent company also owned one of the bakeries involved). And In the end It was Loblaws employees who tipped off the government.

Really? How is that supposed to work when Groper and gang tell us that 90% of it will be refunded/rebated back.
I also notice that just like the Wynned Bag's carbon tax scam, Groper's scam also exempts the largest emitters from paying the carbon tax.

Oh but that's okay. This carbon tax will surely save us from all the natural forces at work that cause climate change. Maybe we should also have an earthquake tax for when the Big One hits the West Coast. Or a volcano tax to prevent Yellowstone from eventually erupting. I mean why not? Seems that taxing people for inevitable natural disasters is the new fad.

I won't speak for the other left wing environmentalist greenies on here but, if you followed my posts you'd have noticed that my love of Mr. Trudeau and his stance on pipelines has zero bearing on my delight in learning that billionaires are just like the rest of us and need help from the gov't in their mundane day to day lives. ROTFL

Okay. So let me get this straight: Loblaws conspired to inflate the price of bread for over a decade, was taken to court for over $430-million in tax evasion, has $47-billion in assets, and had a revenue of $46.6 billion in 2018, and STILL needs government money?!?!

What about all the mom and pop and small town independent groceries that could benefit instead? Locally owned grocery shops that have a loyal following, and don't have the resources of Loblaw Corp, and impact the markets they serve? I'm sorry, but Loblaws can easily afford it's own high-tech crap, and I'm tired of my tax dollars being used for shit like this.

And.... still no surprise that Beaver supports them, and his Liberal cronies for handing out our hard earned money YET AGAIN. Beaver, you continually prove *Mod Edit* and your total lack of morals and humanity. You make me sick.

F*ck this.

-J.

LMAO “lack of morals and humanity “ Lack of humanity! And the Liberals are my CRONIES? Do you even know what those words means *Mod Edit*?

*Mod Edit*. Go spend the rest of the night throwing up in the bathroom of your shithole apartment. Just don’t overdo it because if you choke or something it could be weeks or months before anyone notices you’re missing or finds your body.

Oh and this program has $50 Million set aside for small businesses *Mod Edit*. Why don’t you try getting the facts for once?

So Dr. C, him calling me a “horrendous piece of crap” is ok? Asking for a friend.

Human nature. People will want to maximize your profits by reducing your consumption to avoid paying taxes AND keeping the tax credit.

[quoI also notice that just like the Wynned Bag's carbon tax scam, Groper's scam also exempts the largest emitters from paying the carbon tax. [/quote]. This is that thing conservatives do where they claim just because something is nuanced and not ridiculously simplistic it’s a “scam”

Just because carbon plans around the world recognize certain economic realities doesn’t make them “scams” pr indefensible. Certain industries don’t have viable alternatives yet or can’t economically function in s competitive market so they get a break for now. This just means the tax is being applied in a responsible manner. And just because some of those getting a temporary break are among the largest emitters doesn’t mean they’re the only emitters.

It’s not natural it’s human caused.

Climate change is natural. History and science tells us that.

The rate in which it's changing is being advanced by humans. Climate will still change without any life on Earth.
