Conservation to the Asian way of thinking is to use the resource to the fullest extent possible, take as much as you can in the shortest period if time possible (before anyone else can get in on the killing) and when that resource is used up, or no longer economically viable to go after, go on to the next resource and repeat!

There is something truly apocalyptic about the seas running out of fish.

I'm sure glad that I won't have to live in a world with dead oceans. My poor children, though ... Their ocean may be full of jellyfish and crustateons, but no fish.
