Are we going to see 'Bots "with attitude" drag racing each other on the Strip every Friday night?

Possible. Drag racing would be so much safer if the cars were driverless.

That might be interesting. Equal cars, equal drivers, all zooming around the track in a line and never passing any other car.

So, pretty much like Formula 1 now.

There is also the economic factor. With Robot driven vehicles the trucking industry would be altered to a huge extent. No more drivers needed. Program the trucks to go from point A to B and once unloaded programed to go from point B to C.

A lot of laid off truckers.

That's true for distance driving, but in city I expect to see something like harbor pilots for the final mile so to speak.

A truck trying to get to a business with a screwy dock on bad ground might be a bit much for the computer. The majority of large loading areas are correctly laid out for easy access but those small business can be a real nightmare.

But yes overall lots of laid off drivers, which if matched with the correct reforms of monetary policy is great. Who want's to work for a living when computers can do your job for you?

You make a decent point, many of those laid off drivers could become drive masters at the hard to maneuver docks. They could form a specialized union of sorts and make around the same money they would have made doing the long haul driving. Good job on finding a solution there Xort R=UP
