Has the Islamic terrorist threat in the middle east ever been as great as it is today with Isis, Hamas, Hezbollah, Muslim Brotherhood, Al-queda, Taliban, etc, etc ?
It seems as though the threat has steadily grown ever since Sept.20, 2001 when Bush declared his "War on Terror". Now this could be "in spite of" the efforts of the west, or "as a result of" the efforts of the west but one thing is clear, whatever we are doing is not working. Just like Reagan's "War on Drugs", or LBJ's "War on Poverty", it seems like every time the US declares a war on some abstract concept, it ends in total failure.
My suggestion is the next time the U.S. wants to declare war on anything other than another state, they make it a "War on Chocolate Cheese Cake." We could always use more chocolate cheese cake.
