People actually look to Canada about how well we've managed it. Even here tho, we don't offer refugees enough help. We should take in less of the bullshit ones (that fly here themselves) and spend more on integrating the sponsored ones we take. These are very damaged people, need a lot of support.

We have managed nothing, the only issue is numbers, which we don't have .......yet.

It won't happen. Women don't want to be breeding machines. Personally I think we could do better with less people. Be way tighter about who we take into the country and learn to live with a smaller population. It's going to happen anyway - births in the countries sending us immigrants are way down, and their standard of living is rising. We're not going to be able to attract the same numbers of people unless we're willing to take the dregs. At some point there has to be a limit to population growth. Why not learn how to dealt with it now?

The solution then is to keep them out and to allow only immigrants who can more readily assimilate.

Seriously, it doesn't make sense to me that the West throws open the door to the militant muslims while going to great lengths to persecute anyone who espouses Nazi opinions.

I'm fairly certain that I've said here repeatedly that the national interest of the host country is the only real important factor when it comes to immigration. That puts me at odds with both liberals and their boo-hoo routine as well as with fiscal conservatives that are trying to drive down wages for native-born citizens. But I'd also import a million more Filipinos, Latinos, and Chinese overnight if I could. Those folk contribute big time, they usually become all-around great citizens by the second generation, and generally don't want to start killing us either (and, man, can some of them ever fold a shirt too ). The other places though should be strictly verboten as far as immigrants and refugees are concerned. They're either too parasitical, too crazy, or too dangerous. Racist maybe? See if I give a fuck about any of that.

I agree. Not based on religion but on cultural factors. But refugees aren't assessed like on those bases.
