The US has needed to secure its southern border for decades. The majority of the American people have always wanted that and always supported it. Republican interests held captive to corporate America, which likes the cheap labor, and Democratic interests held captive to the Latino vote have always refused. Trump promising to secure the border by a big, ostentatious wall is why he got elected. It's one of the few things I agree with him about.

Open season for people to shoot them. By crossing the wall in the way you describe means they are invading the US and thus are open to be shot. Not trying to be funny or cute. That's how many are seeing it. Illegal means ILLEGAL.

The full plan for the border wall project is to implement the same technology that's been successfully used on the North Korean border to detect the Norks tunneling under the border.

The tunnel detection tech is already being implemented and if you search you'll find an increased number of stories about tunnels getting detected.

The thirty-foot high requirement is to frustrate the innovative Mexicans who've built bridges to drive over the shorter wall sections.

Trump should forget the wall and just install tole booths for all Mexicans coming in and out... won't really solve the illegal immigration thing, but will bring some serious cash to the coffers.
